Founded in 2015, Marfa Gallery is an artist run organisation and a dynamic, contemporary cultural arts space where varied perspectives and issues are explored through visual arts, film, music, and performance. The gallery is housed in a converted clear span print factory that dates to the 1970's and is a unique venue found in the heart of Abbotsford, Melbourne.
As an advocate for the freedom of artistic expression, Marfa’s mission is to serve international, national, regional, and local arts communities and support the work of both emerging and recognised idependent artists working in all media.
With an option between a fortnightly and three week program of exhibitions on a gallery floor space of approximately 200m2, Marfa Gallery is particularly interested in helping artists and curators achieve projects that have significant cultural impact but would be more difficult to realise in a traditional gallery or museum setting.
